I did some searches on this configuration 1894 and came up with nothing and am now wondering if it's even original.

It's a 26" full octagon barrel 1894 with a full length magazine tube, takedown model, chambered in 32 Winchester Special.

At first blush everything but the front sight and open rear dovetail looks OK to me.
Why are you wondering if it’s even original?

Tony,
So your saying that the serial number is between 291707-331895 making it mfg. in 1906. Winchester developed the .32 WS Cartridge in 1901 for the Model 1894. 26 inch round or octagon barrel is correct and the take down is very attractive. The front sight looks period correct as possibly not the original sight but it may also be original to the Rifle as the Lyman tang sight was possibly added but no biggie on either one to me. Looks like a possible empty rear sight cut in the barrel or maybe a blank as picture is hard to see. Not sure where you did your searching and I'm not trying to argue or offend you but your Rifle looks pretty good to me with the simple picture that you provided. Looks like honest even wear from where I'm sitting. From the configuration that I'm seeing I don't see any Red Flags.

The S/N 34088x. The dovetail cut for the rear sight is there, but there is no sight installed in it. Just the empty cut.

I looked at hundreds of 94's for sale or previously sold and none of them were in this configuration, hence my concern about its originality.

The gun was serialized in 1907

I’d take a few minutes and go the Winchester Collectors (not this site) forum and email Bert Hartman your request. He’ll be able to tell you right quick as he’s done extensive surveys on several vintage Winchester models

To my untrained eye that rifle looks all original.

Tony, I found this old 2016 ad on gunsinternational. Full length mag takedown 30 WCF as a comparison

Not only is it a good idea to contact Bert Hartman on the WACA Forum to get his opinion on your 94 but I'm sure he'd like to add it to his current Survey that he's conducting to help all with information on the Model 1894.
