For those of you using the .300 Win Mag what is your bullet (Brand and weight) of choice for 1000 yd. targets? Thank you,

A lot of good choices to pick from. Heavier may be considered a bit better, but I like the 175gr Sierra MatchKing.

I would think at 1000 most .300 shooters would go for a heavier bullet. Check with rcamuglia I have seen his posts with long shots with a .300.

I’m shooting the Berger 230 grain OTM. I have thousands so I haven’t seen what may be the latest and greatest right now
There may be something with a bigger BC and lighter

I'll vote Berger 215gr. and up. That's where I'm going to start with the Sako S20 I bought several weeks ago.

rcamuglia - Interesting... I loaded your 230 gn Burger, along with "3 other brands equivalents" into a computer program and it is definitely the front runner @ 1000 yds. I tried to be objective as possible and used data (velocity, etc.) from the various brands loading manuals. I realize that the several brands, along with Berger, might me using different length barrels and that the atmospheric conditions might vary from my situation; therefore, the computer model is subject to question. I am not a competition person (at 84), but a friend has a 1000 yrd range in SW GA., with nice benches and cameras installed. So, by invite, I am starting to venture into long range shooting with the larger calibers (6.5 CM, .308 & .300WM). I did, in my younger days, venture out West and helped thin out the Prairie Dog population with a .17 Mach IV, .223, 22-250 & .243 with kills out 800 yds to 1000 yrds. So, I did learn how to "read the wind". Thank you for your input.

Nosler Trophy Grade Accubond Long Range in 190 gr. My .300 WM loves them! Lethal on Critters, Very Expensive though, at least up here in Canada. Photo from Facebook, picture, and comment made my Poster: Bullet: 150gr. #AccuBond Long Range (Entered behind front shoulder, hitting opposite shoulder)

There may be something with a bigger BC and lighter I'm kinda in the same boat, I bought thousands of Berger 210gr VLD's around 20 years ago when that was the heaviest bullet they made. they shoot incredibly well so I never looked at anything else. Down to hundreds now so I might look to heavier in the future

Here's some loads my 700 ADL liked:
300 Win Mag Remington 700 ADL, 220 grain Nosler Partition, 9 1/2M, 71 grains H4831, 0.41 MOA 300 Win Mag Remington 700 ADL, 180 grain Remington SPCL, 9 ½ M, 72 grains H4831sc, 0.57 MOA 300 Win Mag Remington 700 ADL, 220 grain Nosler Partition, 9 ½ M, 74.1 grains RE26, 0.66 MOA 300 Win Mag Remington 700 ADL, 180 grain Sierra, 9 ½ M, 76 grains H4831sc, 0.80 MOA
I prefer classic. Semper Fi I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

My target rifles shooting Bergers will give the best X counts based on wearing out a few barrels, with Sierras slightly behind. The winner of the recent F Open World Championship used 183 gr 7mm SMK. Of course now those are hard to find...
Too close for irons, switching to scope...

For long distance, I use berger 230 otm’s, or hornady 225 eld-m, or hornady 208 eld-m’s. I use H 1000 also. When I had a 300 Norma Mag I used mainly 225 and 230 bullets. I liked the norma better, as the brass didn’t get bulged out at the base like the wm did after multiple firings and sizings.

Par for the KetoPee Course Hi Dummy I never said that I use Nosler Accubonds for competitive shooting. I have never in my life been involved in competitive shooting except with a friend or two on a skeet range or when I was sighting in my rifles for the hunting season, for beers. I did say that out of my 300 Win Mag I am shooting Sub-MOA. And I'll bet I have killed way more big game than you ever have. You are such a Jerkoff, it's no wonder why you are despised here by so many. But do carry on Dimwit! lol

Openly admits to never having participated in a competitive rifle shoot, but name-calls someone who has. In the very forum for competitive shooting.

SMH... I shoot to kill and feed myself, I find target shooting rather boring. Got an issue with that? That's your issue, not mine. Like I have said I have killed tons of big game.

Exactly, just wanted to make clear that I am not, nor have an ever been a competitive shooter, and I never said I was. You literally gave advice in the competitive forum to use 190gr AB. If this was hunting forum, long range forum sure be pretty good advice i suppose. Then to disparage competitive shooting as “boring” in the competitive forum is off the wall idiotic.
Then STFU. The rest of your statement is superflous bullshit with no real bearing on this discussion other than to massage your own ego. Suckin' on my titties like you wanted me.

Guys are also getting good results with Berger’s 200.20x bullets bc not close to the 230 otm. But the 200.20x can be shot out of 1-10 twist barrel.

Pard, although I am not in the Pard club, I call you that out of respect and admiration. My only point was that Accubonds are lethal at long range. I was not trying to infer that I was a completive shooter and never stated any such thing. My only point was that I use .300 WM 190 gr. Nosler Trophy Grade ABLR's in my long range rifle, and they are deadly accurate. To be absolutely concise, to me at least, Long Range Shooting starts @ 500 yards and out to whatever your capabilities ethically permit, on live game. A target shooter I am not. One must watch his step around here, otherwise non pards like the cockroach infested guy who commented about me, will make up fictional stories about what you have posted here. So Pardon me Pard, I have in fact learned my lesson the hard way, yet again and have a great day.
