I built one a couple of weeks ago, didn’t get it away from the house quick enough. My son in law(detective Sargent) came by, had another officer with him, saw mine. He ask how much to build it, around 400 for parts, told him I’d build it if he would pay me for the parts. I can’t say no to a Law Dawg, about got it done, need to screw solar panel on, come get it out of my life. I guess he likes black, his request, I usually paint green. 42’ of 1 1/2 pipe- 150.00 Solar panel-35.00 Spinner-45.00 Funnel-45.00 Rattle paint-50.00 Winch-60.00 Misc. bolts, pulleys, nuts, washers, caulk-50.00 Timer-35.00 Battery-20.00 Motor-30.00 ———- 450.00

Yep. Built a few myself. I've slowly moved away from the tripod feeders and prefer any of the stand and fill types. The dang winches become such a pain if you have many feeders to fill. Lamco makes one of the nicest, but pricey. Lamco Low and ThrowI recently saw some barrel feeders that were stand and fill, similar to the Lamco Low and Throw. I'll make one similar but with plates that sandwich the spinner for less corn deflection. Anchor it with some t-poles so the pigs don't knock it over. Stand and Fill Feeder

What brand timer do you use? Wild game timers, rarely, rarely have a problem with one. Twent to thirty bucks on eBay. I keeps spare batteries, motors, timers, batteries in my jeep or Polaris Easy to setup, change times, etc Amazon probably be the best

Tractor Supply has a stand and fill 350 lb. feeder for $399. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/search/treeline%20feeder?At my lease it would have to be put in a pen as the cows and hogs would destroy it I have one at my brother's place, where neither is a problem and it works well. It's amazing how much corn an "eliminator" spinner plate saves. I picked this one up in Brookshire and it was already assembled ya! GWB

What brand timer do you use? This has become my go to for timers. https://www.texasdirecthunting.com/the-timer-universal-digital-deer-game-feeder-timer/the timer digital deer feeder timer. I usually get mine from Dickinson Feed & Supply as they give a5 year warranty on the unit and write the date sold on top of the timer. Buccees also sells the timer and also have the best price on it and 12 volt batteries.

I use the same timers Hanco uses. They were better when they were Remington timers and I still have one that's been going 18 years. The newer ones (marketed under multiple brands) are still good, but not as hardy as the original Remington timers. Or so it seems.
