Does anybody know what twist Winchester used on their Stealth II 223 WSSM heavy barreled 70's?

You mean the TPI of the threads on the barrel shank, right?

No, the twist rate of the rifling.

All of the Browning and Winchester rifles chambered for the WSSMs were cataloged with a common/universal 1-10" ROT.

Thanx. I'm gonna cut and thread this for a Savage action, and chamber it in 220 Swift. I should be into good rifling by then.
10 twist should be ok for 68-70 gr - right???

Will the chrome lining cause you any problems with your rechamber job?

My RAR-P in 22-250 has a 1-10" ROT and seems marginal with the 60 grain BT varmint and VMax, so I would assume that 1-10" would be even more marginal for a longer bullet.

What chrome lining!! I didn't know these were chrome lined. If they are, then yes, it will be a problem.
I had a 10 twist 223 that did OK with 64gr flat based

All of the 223 and 243 WSSMs made by Browning and Winchester were cataloged with chrome lined bores. They didn't chrome line the 25 WSSMs.

The Winchester 64 grain PP factory load in 223 WSSM shot good groups in my 70 Ultimate Shadow.

I guess I should ask in the gunsmithing section, but how do I get around the chrome lining??
Do I use an undersized drill to remove the chrome and some metal, then go in with the reamer? I don't know what to do for the neck & throat? Maybe a carbide neck and throat reamer ???

I can't help you, as I've never rechambered a chrome lined barrel.
