Got 300 Weatherby, and was looking into a break of some sort, type you insert in the butt stock, on the muzzle. I have a shoulder pad too an extra thick one. Any other ideas except a led sled.

Slowly squeeze and just take it. I've fired a rifle enough to get good and sore, but never hurt.

Are we talking shooting from a bench? Adjust your position so you are more upright. First thing I do at my local range is turn the little stools that you sit on their side so I sit lower.
That and make sure your stock fits you.
I hate brakes!

I am continually astounded at how quickly people make up their minds on little evidence or none at all.

I useta hunt with the Big Roy, until I realized that I could do everything I needed with a 30-06.

Now I hunt with a 7mm-08 because I can do everything I need with it.

LimbSaver pad.

The .300 Bee has some recoil. But a LimbSaver pad will take the hate out of some pretty hateful kickers.

Yes from the bench.

I hear that! Benches are fixed. Height is acceptable . Gotta put on a cheek riser, and then go from there.

Well, you can still say that while you’re hunting with your 270. 🤔

Yep,Limbsaver pad really dampens the recoil on those hard kickers.

The 7-08 is now my "big" gun.

Still have the itch for another '06 but it may never happen.

I had a synthetic Savage in 270, and it wasn’t the most accurate rifle, but l killed plenty of deer with it. I picked up a Remington 721 reasonably priced a few years ago. Shoots ok, haven’t spent as much time with it because of the straight comb, unlike the Monte Carlo on the 70. Having a custom leather cheek riser made. Had a Sako extractor installed couple years ago, lowered trigger pull. Thought about bedding it but l think l’ll try the cheek riser first. Heard raving reviews from any article about how accurate it is, factory.

Picked up a Winchester M70 Deluxe a few years back, bedded that, free floated barrel, removed mag box spacer to have longer COAL, along with shorter bolt stop. Shoots great one round at a time closer to the rifling.

Remington 760’s 35 Rem, 243, 06’.

Agree with others, if the recoil is the problem and you're shooting from the bench or hunting just get something with less recoil, 30-06, 270, 308 or 7mm-08. A good brake will tame the 300 Weatherby as well.

What’s your thoughts on bolt on brakes vs threaded?
And maybe a very slow powder like Retumbo?

If you handload, problem solved. Lighter bullets, starting charges or reduced loads with H4895. A P.A.S.T. strap-on pad would spread that recoil over your entire shoulder. Shoot it standing up with sticks or a tripod of some sort.

A brake just trades one problem for another one, a worse one IMO, and makes everyone around you suffer along with you. Mule Deer has written that even with plugs and muffs, a braked magnum can still damage your ears. A good can would be safer and polite to innocent bystanders.

Or , you could admit to yourself that buying something you can’t enjoy without resorting to a bunch of mitigation was a mistake and trade it for something else. I did that when a light .45/70 turned out to be too much fun for Grandpa.

They definitely help a lot, put them on quite a few slug guns. I just hate that they habitually melt after they get a few years on them. I ended up switching to Pachmayr Decelerators. They don't cut the beatings down quite as much as the Limbsavers, but I haven't had one self destruct yet.

I can recommend a brake that will make it kick like a 243 , the noise however will be bad as will it be from most if not all muzzle brakes. I tried out that brake and was pleased with the recoil reduction. They make it about anyway you want and get it to you in a few days.

My advice would be against any brake and to shoot it sparingly at the bench over a period of time and become acclimated to the recoil. If you reload shoot some milder loads and then work your way up. Unless you wear very good muffs the noise coming from that brake will be a headache at a minimum.

A guy I know shoots a 300 accumark with a brake , he said you can get bad habits from shooting it unbraked. I think the 300 wby is a jewel of a cartridge personally.

Got a magnum PAST and also limsavers. But was thinking to get rid of both. The muzzle jump is a bit excessive but downloading yes. It likes the 200 grain Nosler Partition.
