If you are not actively engaging EVERY enemy you encounter... you are allowing another to fight for you... and that is cowardice... plain and simple.

He was a very nice fellow. A pleasure to deal with, didn't seem to be arrogant in the least. His widow recently sold their NM ranch, correct?? Knew they had one in your area.

Swayze, Met him at the Houston Stock Show, he was set on showing his Arab in the cutting, He asked me and a couple of other guy's to hold herd and turn back for him, we said you bet as we did with anyone that needed help, he had a small sorrel Arab that didn't know their was a cow in the arena, that was about like working a cow on a John Deere tractor, he was very disappointed he didn't get much done, he said the crowd noise really upset his horse, he wanted to prove a Arab could work cattle, he seemed like a nice guy, but he was no kind of a hand on horse back. He was short in stature and was very aware of it. Swayze often demanded no camera shots of his feet and he stood on a wooden box while filming when he could get away with it. He was a shrimp? They disguised that pretty well.

Roadhouse is the most unintentionally hilarious movie of all times. A guy with a degree in philosophy travels the country earning a 6 figure salary by cleaning up redneck honky tonks. Throw in some hilarious dialog like. "Pain don't hurt" and you got yourself an instant classic.

Roadhouse or Next of Kin?
Roadhouse was a bit too farcical for me. Take a beating like that and come back and dish one out? Nah.
I think "Next of Kin" was the better movie, until the Snake Preacher showed up! Liam Neeson did well as "Briar". His hillbilly accent was just pretty good.
Which brings to mind..... Channel surfing the other night, I stumbled into "In the Heat of the Night" with Carroll O'Connor! Made me want to SMDH! EVERY white guy on there made a mockery of a Southern accent.....except the blacks! THEY all sounded normal! LOL!

I haven't even heard of it. I will have to check it out before I weigh in on the OP.

If you look up Swayze, he is listed as 5'10". Not short, but not tall, average.

I liked them both. I knew his mom and sister fairly well. Danced with sister a good bit at dancehall’s when I was single. She was a bit strange, killed herself eventually. I googled it. Vicki? sad story - couldn't overcome depression. I know a handful of Daltons that are in their early 30's now because of that movie, also know a few Tristens because of Legends of the Fall. Red Dawn and LOTF are great movies. Yes Vicki, couldn’t remember her name. She was such a [bleep] up she lost custody of her kids, that’s what really messed her up. It’s absolutely all she could talk about. Very sad!

I think he might have been good in a proper western with the right cast and story. Maybe with Kurt Russell or Sam Elliot. I know he sure sucked in "Steel Dawn".

Road House. Not even close. Jack Lotts's Trophy Room was beautiful even though Hollywood always makes the hunter as the villian.
