I saw a very cool old Marlin today that was factory threaded for a Maxim silencer. It was VERY cool. I did some digging on-line and found some info. Has anyone ever run across one? I will have to try to get back over there and get some pictures.

Those are some interesting threads. And here I thought putting a shoulder ring on a small diameter barrel was a relatively new thing.

It looks like they may have turned down a drive on coupling and fitted it to the barrel, drive on ones were intended for low power cartridges. Does it stick out farther than the original barrel? The drive on couplings add length and the front sight looks like it may be farther back from back from the muzzle than usual. Is it soldered on?

Here are drive on ones -

The rifle is not mine and I don't have it in front of me. There was a guy in Tulsa that had a "demo" Maxim silencer there and it twist right on. I never got to see it or get a picture of it but he knew EXACTLY what it was and had the (INOP) silencer that fit the rifle. I had never seen or heard of such a thing and just thought I would throw it out there for others to see.
