Anybody got one? 4 or 6? 7 speed or 10?
I'm thinking a 2-door, 7-speed would be fun. Thanks.

Totally horsecrap !!! What'll will the resell be on that overpriced FORD be in 2-3 years !!! You think people buying $100K vehicles care about resale? Of course, if resale is a big concern, you probably shouldn't be buying new in the first place, regardless of what it cost. I buy a vehicle, use it hard, and sell it after 10-12 years. I don't buy based on resale.

I'm thinking a 2-door, 7-speed would be fun. Thanks. I've had a two-door hardtop Big Bend since March (ordered the previous March). It's been fun. 2.3l with the auto. Non-Sasquatch with optional lockers. My son put a set of 33" Toyo Open Country on the stock rims and installed the Ford Performance tuner for an extra 30 hp and around 70 foot pounds of torque. Hauls ass. Averages around 22mpg.

So there's two versions of this new Bronco ? One is uni-body based on Escape. One is body-on-frame based on Ranger. 2-speed transfer case ?
That price for the higher trim level would get you a decent F350

Why not if that what one wants. Absolutely nothing - if I had the extra money for a rig like that, I would buy it as well.

That price for the higher trim level would get you a decent F350 They’re trying to make it a brand as opposed to a model.

My wife's nephew bought one. I believe it is the Sasquatch package. I have ridden in it once, and that was enough. Nice vehicle if that's what you're looking for, but was too road noisy for me. I drive nothing but Fords, but will pass on buying a Bronco.

IDK, MSRP in '73 was $3760. Avg retail now according to JDPower is 72,400. Seems like it might work out if you buy and hold...

The older Broncos were built on a 1/2 ton truck chassis
What chassis is the new Bronco built on???

What chassis is the new Bronco built on??? It's own body on frame. Substantially similar to the new generation Rangers. Which, by the book specs, are rated at over 1/2-ton capacity.

What about backseat room? Aren't you a little bit past that? If not then color me impressed. Real Bronco owners know you flip the seat and remove the top so she can see the stars. That is an area the old XLT shined against these new ones. The seat folded and flipped for a flat bed, just avoid the latch on the seat and latch catch in the floor. The new bed is obviously smaller, seat back doesn't flip forward for a flat bed, removing the seat completely still doesn't reveal a flat bed.

I really don't like any of the new offerings. The problem with the new Bronco's is that is just poor quality even in the Raptor form. A lot of weakness built into them. Even the base line JL's are more capable then the base line Broncos.

Most guys who are serious off-road 4x4ers upgrade from the factory specs, just like a lot of serious shooters upgrade from the factory specs. I didn't buy over 70 McM stocks just 'cause. Yeah. No one doing serious stuff is doing it on a base anything. I've got a lot of offroad miles on my 21 Bronco and have spent a lot of time with 7-8 other off road Broncos. One had a fuel pump failure on the trail, which sucked getting it out, but fuel pumps go out in anything. Spend time on some serious trails and you will see failures of all kinds on every make and model. It's as reliable as any new vehicle these days. Computers suck, but if you buy new, they all have them. I've upgraded my suspension, but I've done that in every 4WD I've owned, and upgraded the steering rack and tie rods, as well as carry a spare. Put stronger rear gate supports on to handle the wear and tear of off road, and done a few other things for personal taste. I'd put a few miles on one before claiming it's a POS, but I guess it all depends on what you are after. If you are looking for Lexus comfort, you aren't going to find it in a Bronco. Most of the issues have been from running 37s or larger with minimal changes from stock, which should tell you right there how capable it is from the get go. Try putting 37s on just about anything else stock and see how it goes. Bottom line, it's a lot of fun off road, but it's also capable of making cross country trips enjoyable.
Don't just be a survivor, be a competitor.
