Agree with this. No idea what the lead times are, but the milsurp built 308 I have is a Douglas barrel that is an absolute bugholer. My old man (who built the 308) has a couple in 30-284 and 6.5-308 and they're both fantastic shooters, too.

I don't know barrel twist science but my factory rifle came with a 10 twist barrel which surprised me. I called to confirm and yup, that's what they spec'd. What they couldn't recall is why they spec'd that twist.

In any case, I have loads from 185 grain Lapua to 300 grain A-Frame and they (as most 9.3 owners already know) all group well. In fact, the 300 grain A-Frame load shoots so well (thanks MD) it's now my standard 9.3 load. I am however, tweaking the 250 grain load for an upcoming Sable hunt...

"Any suggestions on a barrel mfg that is shipping in 6 weeks or less?" I have ordered blanks from both Douglas and Shilen and they arrive to my house within 3-7 days after I place the order. If you are having them shape the contour, thread it, and cut it, obviously it will take longer.
