The smoldering Palestinian problem has festered for decades. By rites they should be Jordanians but Jordan doesn't want them. Egypt doesn't want them. In fact no muslim country wants them. They were offered a two state solution during the Carter administration and we spent billions over the years trying to appease them to no avail. Yasser Arafat could not bring himself to sign the accords. Over the decades since then we have committed fortunes to palestinians for their use in building infrastructure in the hellhole they call Gaza. It still has none. They spend the money on arms and munitions to fight Israel. Israel's militarized border was a necessity in order to stop the human sacrifice they were forced to endure paid for by people like Saddam Hussein.
We had peace in the middle east during Trump's administration and it was all lost due to the stolen election. I have never been a great fan of Israel and I am still against our financial help to them They can stand on their own feet. I am a far less fan of palestinians. They have created misery and turmoil everywhere they could and they are probably the largest mentally defective group of people on the planet besides democrats.

The land of Palestine was divided between the Arabs and the Jews. The Arabs got about 80% of it, and most of that ended up being called Jordan. Part of it was also given to Syria.

The Arabs forced all of the Jews to leave their land, but it suited them to keep a few Arabs living around the edges of Israel to be a constant thorn in the side of the Jews, so they didn't give those people Jordanian citizenship but rather gave them arms and resentment. They never accepted that the Jews should have any of the land, even the minor portion. The Arabs have tried to wipe out Israel with a singular lack of success, and now it is largely the Persians running and funding the proxy war.

Ask yourself why these people are still living in poverty, while their leaders have grown fabulously rich. Why are they still living in "refugee camps" 75 years after partition? Why have their leaders refused every offer of peace? The Palestinian State is based on a lie. Jordan is the Arabs' Palestinian State.

Hamas is playing with chess moves this time. They took a lot of hostages both civilian and some military. That is a game changer for Israel in how they respond. Absent the hostages, they could level the Gaza strip from three land sides and one from the water. Kill every living thing in area. If/ when Iran is liked to the attack, Israel will strike at them but are hampered by their limited mid air refueling capabilities. They do not have enough tankers to support a large deep strike into Iran. We could help with that but since we a in nuke treaty talks with Iran, I doubt it. The USA will of course say they support Israel but will try to play both sides and broker a peaceful resolution. If there is such a thing in the mid east cesspool.

It was shut down in the late 60's and into the 1970's. They were manned with Nike Hercules missiles. Why didn't they update to newer missiles and keep what they had ?? Because of politics. The last 3 batteries were closed down in 1979. They were in Alaska.
