Had one. Hard pass. 336 reciever wasn't designed for 44mag length cartridges and that's why there weren't many made. It was a mistake and often resulted in feed/cycling issues.

They didn't always function smoothly, but nice ones bring big bucks to collectors now. I sold one about two years ago for $1,800.

I’ve had two. Gave one to my son and bought the next one I found to replace it. I’ve shot one since 1967. I’ve heard the tails of feeding problems over the years, but never experienced it. Mine have been accurate, smooth operating and reliable.
I’ve been around and shot 2 additional ones over the years and they have had no problems either. I have no doubt that Marlin had troubles getting the action to feed the 44mg cartridge, but I think for the most part the ones that hit the market were slick as a ribbon. I’d buy another one tomorrow.
