How are the new ones for accuracy? Thinking 7-08, I know at one time it was hit and miss.
Also what’s a fair price one as new, almost no round count?

Thx

The new “new” ones are only out in 6.5 and 308 right now. I don’t see 7/08 on the chambering list, so who knows if we will see them again. I would think a NOS 7/08 would probably command $1200 to $1400.

The one I found is a “hunter”, not a Montana I guess.
Looks like a Montana to me

If you can find one I’d make a play for it. I really like mine. Same for the new 6.5.

I found a 30-06 Subalpine a couple of summers ago at North 40 Outfitters in north Idaho. It wears a Vortex 1.5-8X Razor and consistently shoots the 165 gr PPU PSP BT right at an inch and a quarter. I have yet to handload for it. I took three hogs with it a last March. I really like this combo.

I’ve got a Montana in 7/08 and it has shot 139spbt hornady and 120TTSX into very small groups. Those were the only two bullets I tried. My Kimber classic in 308 has shot almost anything I’ve fed it very well. My 30/06 select grade shot very well too but I let it go. Two other buddies have Kimber and the also shoot. I’d have zero hesitation buying another.

My brother has one in 7-08 and its a tack driver, my 300 Win Mag is also very accurate. I enjoy the light weight also.
