First was a 99 Savage in 30-30. Last was Pre-war Savage 99 in .303 Savage. I much preferred the latter.

First deer was with the first rifle I ever bought - a sporterized 1917 Enfield in 30-06.
Last deer was this year with my Kimber in 6.5CM - aka: The easy button!

First was a Savage 340 chambered in .30-30 WCF.
Most recent was a Marlin 336 chambered in .307 Winchester.

Poached a Yearling with an M1 Carbine, first legal was my prized Mod 94 Classic Carbine I bought on time at 16! My so-called "last" (lol) is a pristine 80's Mod 70 FWT with a 25" Shilen barrel in 7x57.

First one was a Savage 99E in .308 my parents got me for my 14th birthday. I never actually killed a deer with that rifle, but did kill two elk.
In 2012 I had a custom 7 LRM built. It wasn't up to snuff, so the builder took it apart and rebuilt it to 28 Nosler. That is all I have used since then.

My first was a sporterized 30/06 I don't recall if it was a Springfiels or Enfield back then I didn't know the difference. My latest is a Safari Grade Browning 243 but it hasen't arrived yet. The one befor that is another Browning a B78 in 6MM Remington

First deer / deer rifle is a 1966 mfg Remington 700 ADL .308 Win back when they still put nice walnut n an ADL. Still have it.
Most recent deer killed with my Weatherby Mark V Lightweight .30-06. Anniversary present from my wife 21 years ago. Still have both!🤣
Most recent deer rifle is a Vanguard 6.5-300 Weatherby with Subalpine camo stock and burnt bronze barrel and action. Very accurate but lots of blast. I haven’t killed anything with it yet.

First was a .243 win 700 ADL with a walnut stock with pressed checkering. 1975 or 76 I believe. Recent is a Bergara B-14 wilderness hunter in .308.

BLR 243 my dad gave me.Last one is a 270 built on a Remington 1903 Douglas barrel timney boyd stock with a lot removed.

Hanco I have had the same thought....several times.....and failed each time. This year has seen 2 B78's and a Browning Safari grade.
How dumb is this, one of the B78's is a 6MM the Safari Grade is a 243

First deer killed in 1978 with an early production Weatherby Mauser Action 257 Wby Mag in Wisconsin. Last deer taken just before Christmas with my HS Precision SA2000 260 Rem and was a nice 8 point SC deer.
One of my hunting club members asked me why I don’t have a 6.5 CM…. I said I use a 260 Rem and he wanted to know how that differs from the 6.5 CM……Ha ha…
