They are a hoot to shoot. So heavy, there is very little recoil. It's a pistol round, so it's fine out to about 50, but at 100 it's not so impressive, accuracy-wise. I still wouldn't stand out there in front of it, though.

For what purpose? As a fun gun, go for it. For any serious purpose there are far better choices. I’ve never shot the auto ordinance version, but I have shot a real FA one. As stated, it was a hoot (and heavy with a drum mag). I’d grab an AR over a Thompson 10 times out of 10 for anything other than a pure fun trip to the range.

I've owned one.
Good gun.
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking to compare to an AR.
Energy? Accuracy? The speed at how fast you can dump a mag? What exactly are you asking. Need more details if you want an honest answer. If you haven't already gotten it.
I like PCC's. So I'm probably biased.
