I just had two of my regular guys cancel due to health issues and one with a work conflict.

There are a few guys here on the 'Fire who hunt with me each year.

The house handles 8 guys comfortably with four single rooms and two double rooms.

References gladly furnished.

Hanging out with duksdog is worth the trip to South Dakota. The hunt is a bonus!!! Seriously, I don’t think a better time could be had hunting pheasants in South Dakota. Cool hunters from around the country seem to pop up at the Bird Dog Bunk House.

You know it’s a real deal Pheasant camp…. when the cook is doing great work…. In his PJ’S, sweatshirt and wooly slippers!!!!

Yes. Don't forget CONSTANTLY washing his hands!

What part of South Dakota?

Sounds like a great time could be had. Wish I still had a dog, and that I could break away for 4 days. 2 days is easier to fit in my schedule.

Incoming reports are showing this to be one of the best years in a long time!!!!

I keep hearing that. With the severe winter we had I was kind of expecting the opposite to be true. But, I’m not complaing.

You tube videos and FB posts are showing many young Birds.

My friends in SD say it will be a banner year.


Wheat and beans will be out.

Corn is @20% moisture so more birds will be exposed as the corn and 'flowers get harvested.

I am so bummed that only the last dates offered work for me! I'd love to come earlier, but watching my son play HS football takes priority. If next year a span of dates from a Sunday through a Wed or Thursday are available on a week I don't have my boys in Oct, I'd be on that like a stink on a June bug!

All that said, I'm looking forward to me and Hank embarrassing ourselves on birds in December!

Yesterday was the opener.

The group of three guys killed 9 roosters.

They saw many giving them good places to hunt this week.

I'm looking forward to getting there!
