Thanks guys. I’ll need it!

I stopped shooting shotguns in 2010 and got hooked on long range practical rifle matches. Got pulled back into shotgunning this year and am enjoying it again.

I won’t be competitive unless I get into the zone. Lol

I’m here to see old friends and have fun

Funny, I got out of sporting clays a few years back as well. Two brothers that I grew up with dragged me back into it this year. I was amazed at how rusty I had gotten.
I use to coach skeet and sporting clays in the county I live in for the SCTP program. A lot of the mistakes I was and still am making I use to preach to the kids not to do.
Bad part is I have shot a couple of matches with one of the kids and they see how rusty I am. It hurts when they start telling you stuff that you told them...using my own words against me....lol.

This is the first year since 2007 I haven't been there. I do miss it. I have several friends there. They say it is, or at least has been raining like crazy. I guess this was a good year to miss.
Good luck to all who are there!

Hunting gets in the way since they moved it to late October.

Friends are there and they say the traffic around the event is crazy.

Big time. 13 years of not shooting a major shows. 92 on the K-Cup was better but still dumped a bunch I shouldn’t have

23 and 24 on parcours 3-4 with 1-2 mañana.

It’s horrible. San Antonio sucks. Went to dinner with a big group and trucks were broken into in the parking lot

I don’t shoot good enough to even go out and watch. Shot the homestead Friday though and had a ball, managed to scratch out 70 with one of their loaner beretta’s.
Good luck to everyone shooting.

The Main event targets are good. Same level of difficulty as in the past

K-cup birds were good. Softer than in the past. I won the K-Cup in 2005 with a 92. Stout targets. I was RU in 2004

The FITASC targets are pathetically easy as compared to the past.

I won FITASC in 2005 with an 85. Ant has shot 97 this year

Good 5-stand.

The trucks being broken into for guns has been an issue for at least 5 years. The thieves also mark parked cars on the shooting grounds. Then target them at night in the motel and restaurant parking lots. One can leave their guns at the grounds in their safe for a reasonable charge. Still your vehicle being broken into is an inconvenience. And the police do little as far as prevention. Rent a Prius and go undercover... laugh

I heard some of the big guns got rained on hard.

One friend shot well in AA....stayed in the 60's for three of the courses....and then the Green....AKA monster course ate his lunch. Still ended up winning the AA Veteran class.

Was going to ask Ric what he did with his firearms. When I went to perry I was super paranoid about my rental get broke into and rifles stolen, at night they were in hotel room with me. You all think they will move that event somewhere else? Anyhow good shooting to all that participated.

I actually drove and pulled my camper; camped on the shooting grounds. No issues luckily, but heard a story of a Kolar being stolen on the grounds out of a car and taken to a pawnshop. The owner called the Kolar Booth with the serial number and they confirmed it was stolen. The guy got his gun back luckily

A guy I shot FITASC with had his truck broken into TWICE on the trip at different location

Harry,

About the only shooters who avoided that weather shot the first weekend Saturday Sunday rotation.

We shot in rain a few stations and big winds kicked up on Sunday. Temps dropped 40°. It was 37° overnight and raining into Monday

Weather sucked

Yuck, I’ve never backed out of shooting a round but that might have been the first if I was on that rotation!

I wonder how the golf carts did in that kind of situation, makes some of those big UTV’s look like a good idea!
