Pretty cool to see. I think I recall being notified that they are going to come close to meeting up around 1:00 AM, but right now Jupiter is right under the moon, and it's a pretty cool sight if you have a clear sky and you're down south.

I had a better view of Jupiter 3 weeks ago. Its sitting 'bout 7 o'clock on the moon but way further away than 3 weeks ago in my neck o the woods.

Good point. I guess only folks in the south of the US will see it as I'm seeing it. I'll modify my post above.

We're having clouds. I walk every morning and Jupiter watches. Pard

Hey, thanks for the heads-up. The moon is headed east in Jupiter’s direction. A quick internet search doesn’t mention an occultation (covering) of Jupiter by the moon tonight though so it’d prob’ly gonna be a near miss.

Wednesday night 11/1 is the closest we’re gonna get this year to Jupiter as we pass inside of it.

Watched the moon rise from a tree stand this evening, wondered what the Planet under it was. Wife and I went walking late tonight, around 9:00 and she remarked on it. I didn’t look it up when we got home, but glad I can tell her now. Always like to be able to show her all my whacked out conspiracy theorist pards online know something useful.

We pulled out the telescope and dialed it in, got to see it and 4 of its moons. The family enjoyed it!

I have had my spotter out by the pool for the past three nights.

Some good viewing for sure.
