How do some people do this? This morning the 16 year old grandson of a friend of mine was hunting ducks on the Snake River in so. Idaho. I said DUCKS, with a D. This muley Buck, with a B, walked into his blind and he shot it in the nose with #4 steel shot.
Our season closes tomorrow and I haven't seen one even remotely this big. That's a corn field in the background and deer have been feeding in it. He probably crossed river earlier in the morning.

Surprised Idaho allows harvest with #4s...are they not one of the Western states that gets pretty nit picky with weapon restrictions?

"You can hunt in Idaho, with a valid permit, using any firearm as long as it weighs less than 16 pounds, is not fully automatic, does not fire buckshot smaller than #00."

It was coming right for us!

Obey lawful commands. Video interactions. Hold bad cops accountable. Problem solved.

The young man was probably just excited and forgot to tell grandpa he quickly swapped the duck load out for 00 buck.
At least that's the way I heard the story...

Rock Chuck: That is quite the story!
I hope that use of a shotgun with birdshot to harvest a deer is NOT illegal in you all's state - as once word gets onto the www repercussion's may eventually ensue?
Again, interesting story, very interesting.

Years ago we finished off a wounded, infected doe we kicked up bunny hunting. She could barely stand, only hobbled away. Took us a few minutes to decide that doing what was right thing was better than doing what was legal. First shot was from about 20 yards, put her down but not out. Buddy ran up and fired round number 2 from about 3 feet, took him a while to get the "stuff" off his face and arms.
