I use both 10" Novaculite bench stones ranging in grit up to ultra fine pink and black and a Ken Onion Worksharp with the grinding attachment. I also have a strop that has rough-out leather and emery compound on one side and smooth-out leather with jeweler's Rouge on the other side. I have a leather stropping belt with some white compound it came with for the worksharp too, but I never use it. I like a regular butcher's steel too.

One of these days I would like to get a wicked edge or KME or something like that for doing perfect edges. Freehand sharpening with stones and the grinding belts works good for working knives, but for a beautiful work of art knife with high end specialty steel, I think it deserves a perfect edge like you can get with those higher end systems.

I eventually will justify the cost of the WE set to bring to my hunt camp. It would be an investment not just for me but my whole club.
