I’m a banker so I had today off. Got out to the lake where I scored that double on nice largies last week (thread here entitled ‘first ever’) and was pretty happy to score the targeted species.

Of course the board I used to measure those bass last week was too short for this guy and he was a thrasher and the wind was whippin so no measurement but I’m pretty sure he is one of my best ever; got him on a 1/2 oz swim bait over a deep weedy transition:

Caught a bunch of dink largies too. I hear there are BIG (25-30”) walleye in there so ima keep going back and changing up tactics. It’s a man made quarry lake and VERY deep.

Hope you all had a great day celebrating Columbus’ doscovery of America!!!

No doubt. I don’t think I’ve ever caught what I’d consider a monster northern. Gonna have to do a trip to northern Canada some day to accomplish that dream I think. Very few where I live, but I bet there’s one or two here and there…

That truth keeps me goin after em!

I hooked a nice on a pearl grub 1/8th oz head on 6 lb test ML rod in my canoe. What a ride THAT was! Until he charged under the canoe directly under my seat which popped the hook loose.

Son in law and I were together crystal clear water we still talk about that fish what a rush!
