I sort of accidentally have an extra 22-250 barrel for my TCR. blush

Have decided to rechamber, looking for suggestions.

I already have many common chamberings, 308, 358W, 270, 30/06, 7RM (which BTW is too much recoil in this gun for me), 22-250.

JES lists a bunch of chamberings, debating going to 6.5x55, because I have several already or a 38-55 or a 375 Winchester or maybe a 9.3x74R. Even thinking a 243W, shame cannot be recut to a 6.5Grendel or 6 ARC but the 22-250 is bigger than either of them.

Purpose is simply to have a choice, all I ever do is WT deer hunt with this rifle. The 9.3 might be overkill. I do reload but would rather not have to work too hard to find brass. That takes some of the more unique rounds out of the picture.

All suggestions welcome.

JES only rebores .338 and larger. He could turn your 22-250 into a 358 Win. 😉

What about a 250 Savage? Provided you can find someone to do it.

The only smiths who rebore that small are Wayne York (I can NOT recommend him) and Norman Johnson. I have been trying to talk to Norman for several years now. Everytime I call or email him his guard dog wife replies. No one gets past her! So I wish you good luck.

Guess I will head toward the 38-55 or the 375 W then. Have an old, as in made in 1898 or so, lever action Winchester in 38-55 and an Encore barrel in 375 so I do have a supply of ammunition. Light loads for practice with the 375 and the 38-55, some Buffalo Bore for the 375. Will think on it more, maybe it does need boring to 9.3x something...

You could go to 360 Buckhammer just for something different.
