My son and one of his buddies is here for the weekend to try for whitetail and/or axis. We just finished jalapeno/cheddar sausage, burgers and beans. Tomorrow my wife and I will head out for lunch then into the city for a play at the Majestic Theater, Annie, part of our season series. My son will hunt and run off a list of work that I prefer not to do. He is cooking chicken fried steak, mashed spuds and green beans for dinner. Sunday I hope to hit the press and load up some 375 H&H for a hunt next year.
Conduct is the best proof of character.

Marrying off my daughter tomorrow
Not my last youngling to get married, but she is my youngest.
My baby girl who's mom ran out on her when she needed a mom the most, and who sends ME the happy mother's day texts.
Gonna be a tough day.

Blow jobs. Home and rental. After replacing the shear pin in the Honda snow blower. Enough already- Haven't finished the last 16" snowfall completely, 4 more inches since this morning, won't stop until tomorrow. Supposedly a 36 hour break, then 12-14 more inches over the next several days. Enough already! We have the whole winter ahead. And I need to go snow machining.. God? God? That's what I thought...

Sat in a tree watching the world go by. I forgot my tag so this gal got to feed past me at 20 yards. Tomorrow I will finish rearranging my garage and hopefully go do some fishing. Sunday, hang around all day then go sit in a tree in the evening.

Trying to get as much done around here as needs done before shoulder surgery Monday morning.
Got the across the creek garden tidied up some today, brought in more wood to the shed. Will try to get some more in but if not we're good until I get the use of my arm back I think. Still have piles outside that need a tarp over them, have to harvest the remainder of the Brussels sprouts, pack away the hunting gear that's in the garage where the car will need to go.
Bunch of other little things, put up hoses, hopefully kill a gopher that's trying to head to the house gardens.
figured I'd get the surgery now, instead of in spring when the good stuff starts back up, like fishing and getting the garden in, etc.

Making space for a fairly large safe. My oldest nephew is changing houses again.
Somehow he thinks leaving it with me is a good idea...
The only decent deer I've seen so far were road kills 20 miles away. Don't even care if I kill one or not but would like to at least see them.

Spending this afternoon with our nephew and his wife and their new and first child. Filling in tomorrow preaching at a small church while the pastor is gone.
Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.

It’s a projects around the house weekend for me. Cleaned out the eavestroughs, mowed the lawn/mulched leaves one last time, trimmed up rose bushes, put away patio furniture, winterized the kids minibikes, checked that the ice auger still works ect.

Fried catfish, hush puppies and FF for dinner along with salad. Got Samaritan’s Purse shoeboxes ready for church tomorrow. Got clothes ready as well a bag of snacks for granddaughters. Included 2 Daisy BB guns and ammo for them as well as .22 ammo. The 12 is year goes thru it rather quickly. Gotta go upstairs to hunt for mounts and rings for a Marlin 30-30 I loaned to my son for the granddaughter to use. She’s been deer hunting the last 2 Saturdays but has only seen turkeys. The weather has been rather windy for us. Made a batch of tea cakes for me, GF oatmeal raisin cookies for the wife. Son, also a pastor is filling in for our pastor, who may have had a stroke. He’s bringing hisMartin D-28 and will handle both the praise and worship services. Got L eye cataract surgery next Wednesday, resting some in preparation for a grueling week ahead. Made some chicken rice soup too.

Spent Friday afternoon in a box blind for the last of muzzleloader. Let a nice but young 7 pointer walk, seen 4 does. Today was opening of rifle season. Up @03:38 Went back in this morning before light and sat all day. Seen one dang button head and one longbeard all day and that was right at the last hour or so. Long day. Have to unload and clean mzldr tommorow, and take it easy.

My 1st look with a bore scope was chilling. I called Terry Paul at Sharp Shooter about the Patch Out and No-Lead solvents they make. We talked for a half hour or so. My take is Sharp Shooter offers good products. I've heard good things about their Wipe Out product. Anyhoo, I have the Patch Out and No Lead, going to work. Examining progress with bore scope. Major lead is at leade and muzzle. Never again will I go so long before cleanings. Years ago a small bore prone Anschutz shooter suggested dry patches every couple hundred rounds, solvent cleanup at end of season. Maybe for his bores, not my mass production bores any more. All you others with more fun projects, rock on!

Finish driving home tomorrow and then get elk processed and frozen. Deboned, so should go quick. I'll do grinding later.

Church in the morning. Our church is celebrating 50 years as an independent Bible believing church in the community. My wife and I are taking our youngest grandson with us, he is spending the night with us. His mom and dad will meet us at church. We are having tri-tip and all the good stuff that goes with it, for lunch, after service.
Today was good. Just some fun stuff with our grandson.
