My son sent me the story a few days ago. there's a East Texas online hunting and fishing club called 903 outdoors.
That is a huge piece of property that only employees or military personnel have access to. It's possible a buck that size could have been reared there, but I bet it escaped from a high fence.

On October 29th with a rifle, in Texas??
What am I missing?

GWB Youth get to rifle hunt the weekend before regular season. Great early opportunity at a good buck. The last week of October is a great time to catch bucks searching for early in heat does. When I Bow hunted if I didn't kill one the first week is was around Halloween when I usually had good luck.

Took all of my nephews on those early rifle hunts when they were young enough to qualify. Best time for bucks in my area of N TX is usually the week after Thanksgiving when the rut starts to kick off here. Rut is usually over here before Christmas.

It was known on the military area, not a high fence escapee. Well just because it had been seen for 1-3 seasons still don't mean it didn't get out of a high fence. I dont know about that area it's about 50 miles East of me or a little more. But just where I live there are at least 7 high fences in the 20 mile radius of where I live.
