Just bought a Sears M53 which is a push feed M70 action.

The action is different so far as I can tell, the floor plate is engraved(?) , the bolt shroud is a little different and the safety , although a 3 pos. looks different.

This is a dirty rotten lowdown thing to ask a guy, but I'm a dirty rotten scoundrel with no redeeming moral standards...would you tell me what you paid for it? I have first right of refusal on one in .270 that I will look at in a week or so. I have had very good luck with other post 64 pushfeeds, great barrels in my experience, I have 2 now, and have had a total of 5. All very accurate. The cosmetics of Ted Williams branding bothers me not.
One fairly nice '06 on Guns Intl a few days ago, I think they were asking 575 ish? But with GI, I can't figure out what actual selling price is.
My experience has been, a little bedding, a little reduction in sear engagement, an inspection and cleaning, leave the center screw almost loose...you got a 1 moa shooter.

Bought it at a gun show. Asking price was $435.00 he agreed on a sale price of $400.00. no tax and no background check fee (mandatory)

Sent it out to Jes Reboring and it is now a .338-06. Waiting on the stock for a new recoil pad, old one was as hard as a rock.

The .30-06 shot good the few rounds that I shot, haven't shot the .338-06 yet.
