Good .. they are out around here at 1930 till around 3am seems no rhyme or reason My kids' best friend works for poker flats I'll ask him how they go about it I'm pretty much sure they're ready 24/7 when something happens but he has to build the foam form around the rocket so they know about when things are going to happen.

Northern lights are on my wife's bucket list. I've been thinking Fairbanks; she has been looking at Iceland or Norway. If a person shows up in Fairbanks during the winter/spring for 5-7 days, what would you guys guess that the odds are of seeing a light show? Assuming clear weather, of course. Thanks, Al. The UAF Geophysical Institute (geewhiz, locally) give an aurora forecast about 3 weeks out. If it’s clear, it’s likely you’ll see some aurora. How active it is, is a bit of a gamble. https://www.gi.alaska.edu/monitors/aurora-forecast

When i lived in Bettles we had g great aurora there. Bettles Lodge accommodations are decent but i don't know if there is much to do other than this.

February is typically the clearest weather, also the coldest. If I was planning a short 2-3 trip I'd go February.
