First group after thorough cleaning and a fouling shot waiting between shots with Sierra 140 TGK. I traced a fourth round in from when I shot the wrong target by accident. This next group was Barnes 130 TTSX which is one of my favorite hunting bullets and what makes it even better was it was fired one right after the other no pausing. Trigger is still a little heavy but I don’t want to change anything that might anger the shooting gods. Such a beautiful old rifle and just a straight up tack driver. Feel like I won the lottery.

It’s amazing how those old outdated Featherweights shoot, since they are all loose and not made on a CNC machine

I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

It sure is. Other than the wrong front hood, that rifle looks pretty good: Well worn stock, filthy, very light freckling and a spray painted butt plate, are other things that depreciate it a bit. Not a bad deal on a 270 fwt though. I would have bought it at that price.

Ldg397: But wait a minute according to the few village idiots on this site, like "small twig", YOU can't possibly have any success using a Rifle scoped with a Leupold scope! But "I" know different - and I wish to congratulate you on that dandy trophy and the fine shooting. Good for you and constantly beware of the few idiotic Leupold "naysayers" hereabouts. Thanks for sharing those great photos. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy P.S.: By the way my now "retired" Winchester pre-64 Model 70 in 270 Winchester has LONG worn a 3.5x10 variable "Leupold" scope - the amount of Big Game (including Mule Deer, Elk, Blacktailed Deer, Whitetailed Deer, Black Bear, Elk, Mt. Goat and Antelope) that Leupold/Winchester combo has taken would/should sober and silence such idiotic Leupold naysayers as small twig. But, alas, it probably won't have any effect on their puzzling Leupold Derangement Syndromes?

Excellent!! Congrats. Gotta love those old model 70's. Especially the featherweights.
