Was rummaging around in old storage and came across a package of old, but unused, 1911 magazines. I remember about twenty years ago buying a bunch (10 or 12, maybe), but placing most of them in storage. I guess I forgot about them. They're Metalform brand, stainless, 8 rounders.

It's nice when you stumble on something like that, especially considering the cost of them today. I guess that's about $140.00 worth of new mags.

The only mags I will use are Tripp Cobra Mags, Wilsons, & Chip McCormick's.

No time to test of deal with anything else when I know that all of the above work.................& if by chance, they don't then I pretty much know it's a gun problem.

Doesn't matter as that's not guarantee of function in all guns.

Use them if you like them & they work for you; I'm past doing anything but using the ones I mentioned.

Some may, in fact work...............but you never know which ones; the ones I mentioned work all the time.

I've been using Metalform 1911 mags exclusively for over twenty years. One recently did become less than 100% reliable, but it was well used and likely just needs a new spring.

Yep. I use nothing but Chip McCormicks or Wilson Combat Mags. Saw way too many metal forms fail back when I shot IPSC competition. And lots of others too.

When I had 1911s I used Chip McCormicks

Never had an issue with them

Thinkin about getting back into the 1911 game with a 10mm
