Anyone using one? Just reviewing the specs and two things caught my eye. The first is the claimed 95% light transmission. I was wondering if it was handicapped in low light by its 38mm objective compared to the more common 40/42 offerings, or how much that ‘higher than most’ light transmission offset the physical size.

The other thing I noticed is that it has a wire reticle. Anyone had any issues with that?

I have a few of them. I have been very pleased. They hold zero correctly and they dial correctly.

And before spandex shows up to bitch … yes, the eye relief is on the shorter side.

I put one of these on my Bergara premier 2.0 mountain rifle in 6.5 prc. Zero complaints. I was looking for a simple SFP scope and this seemed perfect……clear rugged optics , simple reticle and light weight. I think Maven is very similar to Tract optics………direct to consumer business model and they have folks on staff that know optics. Happy hunting….goodshot!

So far a great hunting scope! Nice glass, bright view, nice reticle(see sub tens. when you need them) that moves correctly. I do not dial, scope holds zero. As stated previously, eye relief is shorter…..good luck and straight shootin!

Why would I bitch about it? They are honest with their specs.

How short is short on the eye relief? Don’t recall seeing it in their specs.

So are the eye relief measurements accurate? Seems like a lot of scopes these days are short on eye relief.

Is there an industry standard for measuring eye relief?

If they made one FFP I’d have it immediately.

Mine is on a .22-250. I agree with short ER not the best choice for a big kicker.

I wouldn't put one on a .300 Wby, even if I had one.

Scope seems solid, tracks well, glass is really good. I like it.

The RS.2 measurements are.

Paul is a good sport, and my comment there goes back to the swfa 1-4 - which he feels is misrepresented. The ultralight swfa IS correct; it’s short.

Mule Deer did a great post on measuring ER. He shined a light thru the objective, took a piece of paper and held it out from the ocular until it focused. He measured distance from the ocular to the paper.

Now, I imagine those optical engineers measure from the glass, not the edge of the ocular. BUT, it's that metal ocular rim that cuts your eyebrow, not the glass....

So, can't answer about an "industry standard" of measuring ER. Someone may chime in.

Thanks!

That is pretty short.

I have one of the SWFA Ultralights on a Tikka T1X. No concern of getting scope bite on a 22LR. I like the scope ok. However, along with the short eye relief, the eye box isn’t very forgiving either.

With a good fitting stock and scope friendly cheek weld, eye box doesn't seem to be that big a deal.

The relatively short ER on this 8 twist .22-250 isn't a problem.

BTW, this Mohawk has a 22' Shilen barrel, aluminum bottom metal and a Timney trigger. It's glassed and free floated, shoots sub-MOA with loads it likes, which are most of them.

Appreciate the insight.

Looks like a useful rifle.
