Have a .380, aftermarket nickel & a .25 Auto, aftermarket engraved but nice, unique job. The nickel job is "also ran"! Can't say I'm either exactly a "model fan". The .380 came to be cheap. I do like the "clothing snag-free design", The .25 from my Dad's estate, treasured for beauty and memento. In more historic Colt eras, I'm more the New Service fan! Just struck out on pix of the .25 posting as "bloated" couple of files greater than allowed! Best! John

Cool little guns. For many years I owned a nice 1908. Those guns are built like Swiss bank vaults.

I have one of each and like the design, but I can shoot the 51 Remington much better. I never quite understood why both the 380 and the 25 were dubbed model 1908.

Wonderful pistols, I prefer the .32's just because they're nicer to shoot.

I have a 1903 built in 1920. On occasion it goes with me just in case I am filling up the truck and Clyde Barrow tries to rob the gas station...

About 55 or so years ago I had one of the .32 cal versions. While it had a lot of surface wear, it was a really good shooter and well made. Unfortunately, someone stole it in 1978. I really wish Colt or someone reputable would produce a copy of it at a reasonable price. I would buy one in a heartbeat. Very good balance and a natural pointer. Great carry gun if in .380 ACP with the right ammo. .32 ACP, not so much. Colt did make a limited run "second generation" of this in .380 ACP some decades back and I am told they flew off of the dealer shelves. I only can think of one improvement, other than offering it in stainless steel, that I would like to see and that would be to widen the sights a bit. I have heard some say they would prefer a M-1911 style magazine release, but the original works fine for me. About a year or so ago, I spoke with a gun writer with some industry connections about proposing an American company doing just that. He approached them with the idea, but they rejected it as they were at that time working on several new projects for market release. They may well have ran with it at a different time.

I had an 03 model, 32 acp, that I loved to shoot. shot everything I fed it, except reloads. gun was stolen 30 years ago and still no sign of it. guess Ill finally have to buy another to replace it. maybe a 380 this time.
life is to short to hunt with an ugly gun

Mine eats reloads fine and a 77gr. FP at a chronographed 980fps is nothing to sneeze at. The old 32 autos-Colt, Walther, etc. run good on European ammunition that will crack a frame on the Beretta Tomcat with extended use (been there done that). Not my first choice for a carry gun, but when Mr. Arthur Itus visits and stays in my hand I can still shoot the 1903 well. I definitely don't feel unarmed with it.

But it was worth every penny..... Exactly. Be nice if you answered my question on how much it was. Every gun being refinished anyplace will depend on condition before it was done, and what you want done. I wouldn’t tell a figure here and then have someone bad mouth a place later when theirs came in more…….. Give them a call, they are fantastic to deal with and can help you.

Then you should thank him..... Sorry, hunts. No info is no help. I knew he wouldn't answer. Therein, the call out was justified. I asked him "I'm curious how much it was. ??". I'm well aware restoration depends upon condition. That wasn't my question. I guess he was too embarrassed to answer. And I'm well aware that they do good work. That's not the point. The point was HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY?

Not a Colt but kinda similar. My Dad brought this one back from France in 1959, Made in Spain and it does have French Military markings on it.

Which one is Rocky using here? I'm guessing a 1908 but a little guy like him might only be able to handle a .32 1903.
