They should never have settled the Sandy Hook case. The idea is preposterous that a manufacturer can be held liable for the intentional misuse of its products.

Settling a BS law suit out of court sets a bad precedence. All of the firearms manufacturers should has banded together to fight it. But mass shootings like Sandy Hook are tried in the court of public opinion long before they ever see the inside of a court room. Just like the Trayvon Martin case in 2012, clearly a case of self-defense that went to trial because of outrage in the Afro-American community, not because the evidence, much of which was withheld by the prosecution, favored George Zimmerman. Martin's Mother even knew that the primary witness against Zimmerman wasn't even the girl who Martin was on the phone with when he attacked Zimmerman, but she withheld that tidbit so that she could cash in on her son's death.
They did. Mayfield. IIRC, rimfires and Marlin? Then moved it all to AL when they consolidated there. Not sure what the dis-satisfier was with the Mayfield location?
My how things change over time. In the early 1970s I bought a very slightly used - excellent condition - Rem 700 BDL in 25:06 at Jensen's in Tucson for $75, and it came with a nice Weaver 6x scope. It started my adventures with .25 cal and, later, .26 cal. cartridges.
I have no idea what that ridiculous price that rifle is worth in today's market, and it doesn't really matter.
