She woulda been 93 today.
We lost her 20 years ago Thanksgiving.
The Old Man hung on for another 7 years.
I miss them both, I think of them every day, and I thank God for both of them.
Mom used to call me every year on my birthday in the morning when i was getting ready for work and sing “Happy Birthday” to me! Even time zones away, I figure she had an alarm set!
One of the two greatest people I’ve ever known.
I’m sure it was her teaching me to believe, and her prayers that carried me through some rough times, and I know they were answered when I found Christ myself.
We didn’t always see eye to eye, Mom was sorta liberal.
I know that she hated guns, in spite of once using an unloaded gun to protect our home from intrusion!
I know how much I was blessed by a great Christian Lady in her, and a great Dad who taught me to be a good man. The two mesh together pretty good. But then that’s just my humble opinion!
I ain’t perfect. Far from it. But I know the best in me comes from them!

She was obviously a great woman and a great mother.
No doubt she’d be happy to know that her son still remembers her birthday after all those years and proudly carries on her legacy.
