At a ripe fresh 54 years old this is my first 140" buck.
I've come close to the 140 mark a few times but this heavy and wide brute finally pushed me over.

Nice buck, Ted!
Something magical about a big ol' typical 8.

Congrats. Big 8s are so cool. Very nice buck. I've killed 2 that busted the 150 mark. Wish I knew how to post pics. I think you got the shaft on brow tines. 🤪

Big 8s are where it's at. Give me a buck like this over a 160" 10 all day.

In all reality, put 4 inch brow tines and 5 inch g4s on that buck and it is a 160 10. Love the frame on that buck.

I'm curious how that would give him 20 more inches

If his deer is 140s right now.......
Then we add 8 and 10 to that, you get?

The frame on his buck and a high 50s low 60s is the same deer. All in all. A 140 8 is big. A 150 is huge. A 160 8 is one in ten thousand. Tine length trumps all. A deer like that will have 23 or 24 mains. At least 20 inches inside and 35 inches of mass helps too. Slap 8 or 10 inch brows on him and 12 inch 2s, then you've made it. It's hard. Congrats again on an awesome deer.

I don't know
I shot him late and we had to drive him to the CWD check station in Lancaster just below the Iowa line.
By the time we got back we plumb forgot to weigh him
