5 or 6 years ago, I bought a pair of Hothands glov-mitts from Walmart. They're fleece with a handwarmer pocket. They also have full fingers so your fingers stay warmer when the mitten is pulled back. The fingers are thin enough to make shooting easy. With chemical handwarmers in them, I've had warm fingers when 4 wheeling down way below freezing and while snowshoeing, in addition to hunting. Machine washable, too, in case you get them bloody. I did.
I'm needing a new pair but the price has gone up all across the web to $40.
A couple days ago, I found them at Cabelas for $15. This is a good price for about any gloves.

Thanks for posting that. I've not seen/used those but I do love basic fleece glomitts. The ones I use don't have fingers but I wear a thin merino wool under them. Nothing keeps fingers as warm for me as glomitts while still allowing dexterity.

I ordered 2 pair from Cabelas. They should be here in a couple days. Shipping was $5 making a total for $35 for 2 pair.

I wish!! I use the full length chemical foot warmers. They cost twice as much as the toe warmers but they do work.

I said a good explanation, that might be true and sad but it's not good.

I started using these last year:

I haven't worn gloves on stand in years and instead prefer my coat pocket.

Weatherwise, Idaho is at least 3 different states. I'm in high and dry. He's apparently not.

If you need some extreme temp mittens, check out Wiggys. They have some very warm equipment.

+1. Very impressed with the pair I ordered. They would’ve been a good value at twice the price.

Thanks much,

FC.

I am in the panhandle. If the fleece is exposed it will inevitably become wet. Even if you have dry snow, your hands will melt it.

Thanks for the tip, ordered some mittens. The ride to the hunting area on the Honda can be brutal on the hands when temps drop below 45°.

Found them to be TOO warm in 38 degree weather yesterday. Even more pleased than before!

Sure beats gloves when on the tractor without a cab, blowing snow.

Yes, they do make similar for feet. I have some socks that has a slick outer sleeve on the toes where you put the hot packs. I also have the gloves and they are ....okay. Better than not having them anyway.
It seldom, if ever, gets below say 25 degrees here when hunting luckily.
For the hands, I prefer to use surgical gloves under my heavy shooting mittens without the hot packs. REALLY helps. I may keep a hotpack in my front jeans pockets and occassionally take them out.

For my feet I take off my hunting boots, put my wool socked feet ino slippers that come over my ankles and slip my feet into Boot Over Wraps. May not be for everyone but do give the surgical gloves a try some time.

I've been through many hunting seasons when we'd give anything to get UP TO 25.
