Looking for recommendations on a lightweight and packable camp stool or chair to use in the 8 man tipi or outside my two man SD lightining tent. Sitting on the ground or just on my sleeping pad gets a little rough on the back and hips after a day or two.

Using mine in the 8-man...deluxe comfort!!!

And with just a tarp...

Or, you can whip up a field stool...(shown laying on the ground)

And in use...

I have an Exped Synmat 7 and might get the chair kit for it at some point. Still, I'm looking for something to get me up off the ground so I can sit and take some pressure off my back and hips. A foldable stool would work, but something with a back would be even better. Weight seems to be the real issue. Right now, I'm looking at something like this, but am looking for suggestions:

This seat is not light weight but I think it could be made or adapted to be lighter. I use one when bowhunting for deer and it's surprisingly comfortable.

good info, I bought a little 3 legged jobber from SW, the dang thing gave up the ghost first time I used it, but it was on a raft trip, not bping.

I can't justify the weight for the way I bp, but if a bud would be kind enough to tote one for me, I'd use it!

Check this one out:

http://www.slinglight.com/

It's made for backpacking and very light. I got to sit in one (in the 8-man) a few weeks ago and it was nice.

Stool

i use this one walkstool

Very good support, pack light and small.

Chair

I use this one
Kifaru field chair. Never try it in the field and still find the best position for comfortable (need time to play with it). I will use the Kifaru field chair with some soft pad.
But for sure it's most lightweight, packable in all kind of chair.

And i use this one - sling light

if this chair with arm rest and foot rest, it will perfect. grin

i think all are good to use it in Kifaru Tipi.

I have this one and appreciate the back support over the regular walkstool. However it is not something you can sit in for a hours on end it starts to cut the circulation off to your legs after a long time. Ask Romo he knows first hand.
