I have an early 90’s mkV in 300 weatherby mag, anyone know who made the barrels back then for this gun? It’s made in USA , I’ve heard that they used lilja barrels back then, I was just curious to know.

They were made by Weatherby as far as I know.
The ones made in Sheridan WY now, have Criterion barrels on them. All of mine shoot close to 1/2" or better.

If it is a SB and a # 3 profile barrel in an accumark it might be made by someone aftermarket. Call Weatherby they will have its history on file. Weatherby has been making rifles in Wyoming for just a few years .

Dang, when I was in high school my girlfriends dad had a mark v in 300 weatherby with an old gloss Redfield on it. That sucker would shoot lights out with 180s. It was an old deluxe that had the white diamonds in the stock. He would let me use it a few deer seasons and it was some horsepower over my 06. I bought a new Sheridan deluxe 2 years ago in 240. It'll rag hole factory 95 noslers.

No jumping thru hoops, tightening action screws, bedding to get them to shoot with factory ammo .
