Mully, was just catching up on old threads...I've spent the majority of the last couple years in mountains in Asia and Europe.
Anyway, you asked my experience with Phil Wilson's partial tangs...sorry to say, I have none. The micarta handled knives in my posts, to include tha Semi, bird and trout, etc. are all full tangs that he made for me at my request... Again, apologize; no intent to ignore you!

Another maker to check out is Bryant Hollinger from AL.

Trout - use barbless hooks and throw them back.

Birds - a folder with a gut hook, like the Buck 321.

I like the Zyliss paring knives because they have larger handles than the Victorinox.

Either of the Dowell's Brett or daughter Taylor make great knives, they're coveted and hard to find.

That's a nice knife, and I had one and gave it away to a friend's daughter as a deer knife.

They call it a "Small Game", but the freaking thing is .130" stock and like .022" behind the edge.

If the OP's Ingram 4L is like mine it's .090" stock and .015"ish behind the edge... IOW, more "Small Game" (or B&T in this instance)...

A couple of those pictured were catch-and-release for me for one reason or another. That Bout All was sold here on the forums and is being replaced by another one with more oval-shaped handles. Those were just a bit too blocky for my taste. With that said, it is a great knife pattern and works exceptionally well. I can't recall who bought it here.

Sorry, would stick to F Dick, Vickie, etc..., or the Flyway or the Cold Steel Mini Pendleton in 3V, or a Fallkniven F2Z..

I think Mike and John are living the North American dream and applaud everything they do....but I have had edge issues that gave me pause, and their heat treat video didn't inspire confidence.

When I retired my wife gave me a Winnebago Revel 4x4. Outfitting it, I only wanted their knives for our cooking, killing critter of opportunity, etc. set, based on my pair of Skahas, and their amazing price point.

As said above, they've given me pause, but again realize I have and routinely use knives from the best makers on the planet. Objectively, against similar price knives, not even "small batch" as these are: they're damned good...
