I was wondering if anyone in this group had a Winchester model 70 Alaskan laminate in 375 H&H mag that they would be interested in selling? I have an upcoming moose hunt next year and have wanted one of those rifles for quite some time. Thank you.

Quite the collector item there.
Might have been only one run of those,
maybe 200 produced for Shot Show 2012.
Let the bidding begin if one is for sale.
Model 70 Alaskan:
One book says $1500 for excellent condition.
$1780 for NIB.
And add $200 for stainless/laminate and $40 more if .375 H&H.

Yeah I know it’s a long shot but a few members on here have them and figured it was worth a shot I have always thought it was a beautiful gun. I’ve never even handled one.

(Not for sale) While hunting in Kodiak in 2012 I read an article about it with pictures. I stopped into Boondock's when I got home and asked if I could order one in 375 H&H. That's when I found out it was a Shot Show Special only. Boondock's was slated to get two Alaskan stainless grey laminated 375 H&H and they were already spoken for, but they took my name just in case. Low and behold someone backed out and I got one! I mounted a VX6 1-6 on it, semi-sighted it in while starting the break-in process and then stuck it back in my safe before I finished. Now that my bow shoulder is hollering at me I'm glad I have it just in case I draw Kodiak again. It's definitely the most handsome in the stack. I knew it was a limited run but didn't know there was only 200 made. Ammo is getting difficult to find. I found a couple boxes of Barnes 300gr TSX last year. I think they were $125 each.

Hope you find one for sale. If not, the new Mod 70 Extreme Weather 30-06 is sexy. I just bought one and plan to use it next moose season. I figure if I can't kill a moose with a 30-06 I better hide. Ammo is cheaper and more plentiful.

Good luck!

That is extremely lucky. I don’t have the same luck. I plan on taking my bow for the moose hunt but if I don’t have my tag filled on the second to last day because the rut is lacking I hope to be able to switch to a rifle. For me it’s a once in a lifetime hunt but i prefer archery. And I am a sucker for the grey laminate with stainless. My dad has a Ruger in that color scheme and I have always admired it.

I have one of these rifles. I got it several years ago and hunted hard with it. I didn’t know it was a rare gun until a year or so ago. The thing has been beaten, abused and put away wet. I’ve used it on bear, moose and caribou. I’ve taken it on half a dozen extended raft based float hunts for moose.

It’s been a good, fun bear days I leave it at my cabin so I don’t have to take a gun when I head out there. I also have a stainless classic 375.

Both of them have been good guns and I’d never sell them. A few years ago I passed on a laminated stainless alaskan 30-06 and I’ve regretted it ever since. I sure wish I’d grabbed it.

For what it’s worth I saw a laminated alaskan 300 win mag on gun broker last night for 1500 bucks.

@BrandonK910, I understand you are looking for a 375 H&H Magnum, however, I have a 338 Win Mag in Winchester Model 70 Laminate Stainless Steel still in the box if you are interested. Also, I have a CZ American Safari in 375 H&H Magnum that is still in the box too. PM me if you're interested. Many thanks.

Not the stainless laminate; but a very good price on the wood/blue version if anyone interested.

I think it sold at their store. Was listed there for 1495 but marked out of stock now.

Not sure. I believe this to be the same gun.

Nothing specific just wondering why it bounced from arnzen on gunbroker to guns.com. Presuming AK read the tea leaves correct and it is same rifle.

I’ve purchased from both in past. Guns.com was hard to get any additional info from, but I took a chance and it worked out. I’m lefty but was interested as price wasn’t outlandish but was going to want more photos which guns.com hadn’t provided for my prior transaction. Transaction would have been easier through arnzen for me. Arnzen had item on their website, they posted to gun broker and it flipped in a few hours to closed and then up on guns international via guns.com.

I prefer to call on serials to confirm factory rifle and not a sold barrel action that got put together.

LGS had a stainless laminate 375 H&H a few years ago.

Still kicking myself for not grabbing it...

I never came across one to impulse buy, but everytime I saw the blued and walnut version at the local emporium I grabbed it.

The blued and walnut one seems to have a slimmer stock and weigh about a pound less, and is very lively in the hands.
My only consolation.

Looked in my little black book. Record of call to WRAC a few years ago:

Only 157 were made for 2012 of M70 Alaskan Stainless Laminate .375 H&H.

My recollection of "only 200" was a gross brain fart and sometimer's disease is my excuse.

If sumbuddy who know bare/unloaded weight of the stainless-laminate version would tell, it would be appreciated.

Googling yields 9.0 pounds for stainless laminate of 2012, and 8.5 pounds for the latest walnut and blue version as of 2022.

As of 2012 and 2015, the walnut and blue version weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and 7 lbs 11 oz for the two I personally weighed.
They differed by one ounce in walnut stock weight.

I do love the classic look of the walnut and blued version but also like the versatility of the stainless laminate. Decisions-Decisions.

To me, the 375 Alaskan is the best 375 made today. The only flaw I've found is the 3 round mag capacity. On mine, you couldn't even close the bolt on #4 dropped in the barrel. It was close, so some rifles might. And with some parts swapping you can get it to take 5!

The good news is that it will even feed the old Barnes flat nosed solids!

And five rounds of 375 has a lot of potential!
