The stock and forearm on my CVA Apex .50 cal muzzloader have become sticky to the touch. I contacted CVA customer service and they said there are no replacements but offered to exchange for an Accura. I don't want to do that if I can avoid it. Has anyone found anything to remove the sticky layer? Thanks for any info.

I have had short time results by cleaning the stock with alcohol to remove the tackiness. Had to do it again a year or so later.

Dust corn starch on it. It's an instant and permanent fix.
