Hello
Was wondering if there are any gunsmiths who specialize in the 99 in the mid-west area?
Then we may as well go ahead and ask for the east and west coasts along with our friends to the north, so everyone who may need work done can have a resource for the closest smith next to them.
Thanks in advance

Interestingly, the most knowledge of model 1895/1899/99 is right here.
Models, variations, serial number cutoff, specs, features, trouble shooting, etc. are collectively right here.
Understood that knowledge is one thing and eventually someone may need to turn a wrench.
There may be smiths out there who can accommodate all the above and it would be good to identify.
Good luck.

Patience and common sense goes a long way.
I've disassembled this Winchester 1894 rifle, cleaned it up and reassembled.
That 32-40 is crispy now.

Let me start by saying I am not a licensed gunsmith; I am a retired mechanical engineer with a machine shop and a 60 year passion for the 99. I specialize in customs, but I can do about anything that should ever be done to a 99, and do not work on anything else. I keep a substantial parts inventory for the 1895, 1899 and 99 both pre and post mil.

Yes,
Minor adjustments/issues are normally discussed and fixed using this and other forums/avenues of knowledge.
Barrel replacement
Headspace
Broken parts
Are some issues where a gunsmith comes in, and one with knowledge of the 99 helps in the above and other areas such as trigger pull and rotary magazine do's, and more importantly, don'ts.
Thanks to all
Please post anymore 99 smiths if you can.
