No BS. In 1971. 10 for quickie, 15 for half and half, 20 for around the world.

20 bucks then is equivalent to 151.00 now

Our street has big nerf wars with the kids. Even the video game zombies come out and play. Little guy is ready to roll.

Still a half century!

For six bucks I could buy 5 gallons of gas for one dollar, get us in show for a buck apiece, buy us a hamburger fries and a drink for another buck apiece, have a buck left to get popcorn in the show. Money went much farther then. Minimum wage was 2.10. I started my apprenticeship in 71, made 3.10. I cleared 98.46, bought groceries, gas, paid for an apartment with that 98.46. We ate a lot of hamburger helper, tuna, etc, but got by until I became a second year apprentice, got 15% raise when you jump to 2nd year.

I had to pick up a lot of bottles, mow a lot of yards to scratch up ten bucks back then. I stopped going after I started going with ex wife my senior year. I went my junior year about every two weeks. It took that long to get ten bucks.

My top three choices, in order:

1. Take my wife or one of my daughters to coffee and dessert (given the budget, we might have to split a dessert).
2. Go down to the Legion hall, beer for me, beer for whomever I sit next to, and a handful of pull tabs. Listen to the other guy talk.
3. Box of 9mm and some splatterburst targets.
