Girlfriend and I usually take a couple day road trip after Christmas. Check out some outlets for her and a few out of the way gun shops for me. Didn't buy anything this trip until I got to the last stop. Marlin 336 jm in 35 Remington , decent leather sling and 4x Weaver. Pretty good overall shape. The other is in 35 also. Remington 760 cut to Carbine length. 35 Remington stamped mag . Hideous see throughs and a 3-9 Tasco that has to go.

I saw it behind the counter I was really hoping it was a factory 35 Remington carbine. Still not complaining though

Beautiful ! What makes you think the 760 was cut and not a factory carbine. They did make the 760/742 with 18” carbine barrels.

Thanks. All the factory carbines I've had and seen were marked carbine.

Yup. They were all marked "CARBINE". Say what you want about Tascos. I spent a lot of years with them in my younger days and never had a problem

I've hunted with and shot a lot of Tasco scopes too. Younger days they were what I could afford, now I tend to use Burris or Leupold

I'm with you. I use better stuff too. But I can't find anything bad to say about my Tascos back in the day. I've had a Leupold erector lens let loose on me but those Tascos and Bushnells did right by me

They say everything happens for a reason.
For me that reason is usually because I've made some bad decisions that I need to pay for.

Nice finds. 2 nice rifles.

If the second letter on the barrel code of that 760 is V, which I highly suspect it is based on the stock and forearm, that is a shame they cut it. That's a 1979 and a 1 off yr only chambering in 35 Remington. I have two I was fortunate enough to come across. One I hunt, the other is a safe queen.

They chambered not a lot, but chambered in 35 Rem from 52-67. Stopped chambering in that cartridge altogether then brought it back for 1 yr only in 1979.

Doesn't take away from your use for it, and coming up with a gem. It looks in great shape from here.

It is a 79. Yeah I first saw it behind the counter and knew it was 18 1/2" they said 35 Remington I tried not to look to excited. Then I looked and it wasn't marked carbine . Still can't complain.

No sir. It looks nice. Depending on the price I sure wouldn't turn it down, cut or not.

Many 760 Remington’s have the beautiful (😵‍💫) see-through rings. If I got a set, they would be on a table for $5.

I prefer classic.

The ones that came on this one are in a drawer. They were popular at one point but I never could stand them
