ACLU is doing the same chit $19 p/m. ACLU been hitting the lesser tier antenna tv channels pretty hard. Book bans in schools <graphic homosexual tales>, limiting voting rights <voter id>, women's reproductive health <murder babies>, homosexual rights.

Same reason that people buy a car based on a monthly payment and not an out the door price.
We give charity one week a year and it was this week. Never know how the year will end up until Christmas or thereabouts.

The reason for the $19.xx a month is the IRS rule that requires them to provide receipts for annual receipts greater than $250. Less reporting obligations

I've noticed the same thing.All these non-profits are all asking for the same amount,"Just $19.00 a month".This isn't an accident.Sounds way too organized.I wouldn't give them a nickle.

I round it off to $20 for St. Jude &Shriners, DAV, Salvation Army & Toys for Tots get the same amount ($240), but in one check just before Christmas. Church gets a lot more. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year.

Less reporting obligations if true, that certainly makes sense now as to why every friggen one of them wants the same amount. they won't get it from me. I'm resolving to send the CA rifle and pistol org, GOA, SAF, and maybe a couple of others an anonymous donation this new year. Anonymous as can be to try to keep them from bugging me forever to send more.

Yes or No... A strange thing happened. I got a letter the other day from the NRA extoling the organization's record and efforts to protect our 2nd amendment rights. The letter was asking that I include the NRA in my estate planning (will) and offered to help me word the gift bequest properly. I suppose they did not wish to have the NRA portion contested successfully in the event of irate would be heirs. The strangest thing was that the letter was sent from the president of the NRA and Wayne LaPierre was not mentioned nor listed on the letterhead anywhere. They offered a really sweet deal if the bequest was over $1 million. I threw it away. I'll keep my life membership but they get no more money.
