Anyone other than Leupold make a LVPO with a standard duplex reticle? I’m not against Leupold. I just wonder if I should be looking at another brand. I don’t want it for an AR, so I’m not interested in a reticle that is for an AR.

Bushnell Elite 4500 1-4x. 30mm tube.

Hawke builds 2 of the 1-4x that has a dot at the center instead of standard duplex. Dot floats between the 4 lines instead of the lines intersecting. The Vantage and the Endurance models.

I think there’s quite a few if you look into it.

Leica and Zeiss make 1-6x24 scopes that have what is essentially a duplex reticle. It's a bit like a German #4 but I think the heavy lines at the bottom and sides of the reticle are not as bold as in a true #4.

Have you looked? There are quite a few, but if you search “LPVO” you may slant the query towards tactical stuff. Go to a site like CameraLand, or Optics Planet and check the boxes on the left to meet your wants. Ones with open turrets are more likely to have a reticle other than duplex.

I have. I could have been clearer in my inquiry.

I’ve found some cheap Chinese scopes and some $1500 scopes. Most are illuminated with an AR style reticle. I’ve been on CameraLand and Optics Planet. Don’t see much on there that I’m familiar with. I’m ok with a less expensive optic if it will hold up. I’m not big on buying chinese made. Can’t afford the $1500 ones right now.

Any experience with the Bushnell or the Hawke? I’ve always felt Bushnell wasn’t very good, but not sure about that one. I’ve never known anyone with a Hawk, so I have no reference for their quality.

Would love one of these. Just not sure I can afford one right now.

I bought that Bushnell off Amazon, fulfilled by Midway, for $125 or so. Mounted it on a .22 mag AR upper. Responded properly to adjustments when sighting and seems like a nice scope. Had it out last week dinking a 4” plate at 100 yards. So far, so good. Would buy another one if needed, especially at that price or similar.

My other LPVOs are a SWFA 1-4 with a kinda tactical reticle and a Trijicon Credo HX 1-6 with a Hunter Holds reticle with illuminated red dot on a fine crosswire with side bars and a couple of hold marks, a good hunting reticle IMO. Kinda spendy at about $840, but good stuff, well worth the price if you have it to spare.

Have had some Hawkes, but not in this power range. The Endurance 30 line has, or had, coil bias springs, and good multicoating. For that price, I’d look at Trijicon Huron or Ascent, or something else not made in the PRC.

Never had any issues in 15sh years with any of the Elite series from Bushnell and as far as Hawke goes I have had 3 or 4 and no issues there either.
