I purchased one of the new, low quality, Lyman sights for my 1906 1885 in 45-70. Had to slap on a taller front sight. Man does it shoot old cast bullets. Using a rest at 100 yds was giving me less than 2”. I’m hunting this old girl next year.

I'm liking everything about it!
Can't wait to see how you do with her next year.
Nice work.

Sweet lookin' High Wall! I found an original "S" code Lyman No.1 Combination tang sight for my 1887 vintage .45-70 High Wall. It doesn't have the greatest condition bore but it'll still put 'em where it's looking.

Mine is a 5 footer. Reblu, rewood, rebarrel. Looks good from 5 feet. Still a hoot to shoot.

Great looking rifles. Just something about a vintage single that makes me smile

Ive got a line on another 1885. It’s a low wall in 22 long. Thinking about picking it up. Not nearly as attractive to me as something i can hunt deer with. Might be fun tho.

T4 These Winder muskets are fun to play with and can still be had for a reasonable price. Mine's a .22 Short but I believe they made some high wall versions in long or long rifle.
