As for the how do we fight back, you are correct it starts at the local level, but it needs to go beyond that.
We need to speak out against the narrative the left is creating, followers and weak minded individuals fall for the talking points, because they are uninformed they parrot the narrative, many like to virtue signal with the lefts talking points.
If we challenge friends and family that's a start, or we could use social media.
For example what i post here will reach 100 times as many people or more than I have contact with at any given time.
Call out the idiotic ideas for what they are! Shut down the virtue signaling! Make them feel foolish for being the fools they are!
Now as for Jim, I can't really speak for him.
I can speak to what appears to be a double standard on my part for not calling him out.
I am taking in the bigger picture with Jim for context. He is on the right side of the issue 99% of the time.
My guess would be he was simply provoking thought, he has a cryptic and witty way of expressing his opinions. He regularly uses absurdity to display absurdity.
Taking Jim at face value is a mistake, he has contemplated these issue much more deeply than most individuals.

Indy on the other hand is a very stereotypical entitled boomer that made money off of the system, a sheep of a different sort.

On conservatives: just the very nature of being conservative makes complete agreement with any other individual highly improbable and more likely impossible. There are some fellows here I agree with almost all the time, but after a long enough period and enough posts read I will run across something that leaves me thinking they must have rocks in their heads. I'm sure it goes both ways, too. The differences between those I have respect for and those I detest is based on my own detection of principle and intellectual honesty with a dash of humility tossed in.

On non-conservatives: mostly they just suck.

We have recently discovered that some of the most dangerous among us are the pseudo conservative...
The ones that pretend to be conservative but are simply pandering to true conservatives for personal gain.
Think John McCain, Mitt Romney etc.... Trump has flushed them out of the woodwork, tremendous value in that .
We have many pseudo conservatives here at the campfire, they should be called out at every opportunity!

thanks for the reply.....we are in complete agreement .....I do feel that based on history on several super powers down through time we are on a course that can be slowed down, but not stopped.....we are simply getting out numbered as time goes on.

Interesting comparison with the UK and us. I think you are spot on. The Sterling pound was the world reserve currency at one time.
The british empire also over extended themselves with colonies and playing world power back in the day. They are a woke joke today.
Our culture and the American way is being destroyed before our very eyes and the lib's are the major enablers.
Europe has done this over and over.... and world wars are the results
