A couple of well flung tactical nukes (one hitting Three Gorges dam) would wreck China’s economy and ours along with it.

So, that combined with our elite’s loss of under the table income, us selling out Taiwan isn’t just a possibility, it’s quite likely. China wouldn’t have to invade, they’d could just tell our government they were going to invade unless the U.S. brokered a “peaceful transition”.

After the war the Allies agreed that Taiwan was Chinese. Chiang Kai-Shek and the Nationalists invaded Taiwan and established a govt. in exile, a brutal military dictatorship. Google the White Terror. However, he was anti-communist, so a good guy, and our ally. He and his glamorous US educated wife were the darlings of the US govt. and media. Took us for a fortune in US dollars. Parallels with Zelenskyy? Somehow, after all of that Taiwan evolved into a healthy democracy. So, Taiwan is historically and culturally Chinese. Which Chinese remains in question. As a practical matter it would be foolish for China to attack Taiwan. It would be extremely costly and would accomplish little, as they already have cultural and economic ties. However, with CCP politics, who knows?
