I posted a short while back about finding two Marlin 336 Texans in 35 Rem. that were made in mine and my brother's birth years. In the early fall, he was able to draw first blood on a pig.
Last Tuesday evening, I was able to blood mine and it happened to be a pig as well. Big nasty boar. Shot it at about 50 yards on a hard angle that took it in the flank and penetrated up into the chest cavity. At the shot it bucked up and ran into some heavy cover. We went back in the next morning and found it piled up about 40 yards from where he was shot. He was big. Over five feet long and estimate between 250-300 lbs.
I used a factory Hornady load with the 200gr. FTX bullet. I didn't get an exit, but considering the angle and how long he was, I'm not surprised.
