We have had an artic blast snow storm here in north Alabama this week. Since most everything is shut down I decided to hunt in the snow. As I was walking to my blind I noticed deer tracks and yellow snow from a deer. My question is how fresh is it? Will the yellow snow stay yellow as long as the temps remain in the teens or could it be only a few hours old? We don’t normally have this much snow so I have no experience with this.

Up here, the pee, typically, darkens as it freezes !

Think dog wizz, on a snowbank.

Thanks for the info. After two days the pee has disappeared and it did turn much darker. Looks like I just missed that encounter by a couple of hours. I also did some stalking, following the track in the snow. I came across some beds that were completely free of snow and also found areas that are high traffic. Without the snow I probably would have never thought those areas had that much traffic. The snow is a big help for showing deer movement but I'm ready for it to go away. This town and roads have been shut down for five days straight. Cabin fever is for real!
