Anybody on here use the Nosler 110-gr. Accubond bullet in their .270 Win. on deer? It is lighter than the usual suggested weight (130-gr.) for the .270 and deer, but its bonded-core construction should mean that it will stay together on impact, and its flat trajectory at .270 velocities is appealing.

I've got an idea that it was more designed for lower velocities in the 6.8 SPC as was the 110 TSX, but is fine up to about 3000 fps. Perhaps research this a bit more. The 110 TTSX was designed for higher velocities.

Have used both 110gr TSX and NAB out of 270 for deer.

They work and have never recovered a NAB with both mild (2600fps) or standard loads (3200 fps).

The 110 TSX was used not only on deer, but antelope, hogs, Axis and Blackbuck.

Have recovered two TSX's, expanded perfectly. Both two plus feet of penetration.

Use either with confidence.

I’ve shot a few bears with the 110 NAB out of a 270 WSM started at 3700 fps. Never recovered a bullet.

Those bullets are probably still going!!

I’ve seen plenty of guys shooting the 100 grain cor lokts for deer in the .270

That’s a factory round and it gets the job done. I can’t imagine an accubond not being even better. And I bet

I’d stick with 130s

They make 6.8mm (.277) 110 AccuBonds.

I'm an AB fan and have mostly transitioned from the Partition to the AB in cartridges with bore diameters less than 0.277", but wonder if the bullet in question, which was designed for the 6.8 SPC's maximum safe velocities around 2,500 fps, won't be fragile and potentially disintegrate at the higher velocities that the 0.277" bore cartridge with more case capacity are capable of.

I've read the anecdotal evidence, but notice that Nosler doesn't recommend a load for it's use in the 270 WIN, WSM, or WEA. Being the resident guru of such things, what do you recommend for this combination of components?

Interestingly, the 110AB is included in Nosler's load data in the 270, WSM, etc. with MV up to 3700fps. But on the website under Accubonds, I don't see it.

I saw that as well.

I didn't see that when I looked at the AB section and since it wasn't there, I didn't look any farther.

I'd have to think the 110's screaming out of a 270 would be deer zappers.

The destruction mirrors that of a 25 cal 110 Accubond started at 3600fps out of a 257 Weatherby. Never been able to recover one of those either.

The 110 has been discontinued.

That's a shame. I bought some a number of years ago and really liked them on deer.

Made a nice point and shoot setup and seemed to kill faster than the 110 ttsx when placed behind the shoulder

It's been awhile.
But I used 113g copper monos in a 270 WCF for deer.
This bullet would be very close to a Hammer or a GS-HV.
It ran at 3340 or so.
Easy 300 yard zero.
Hold on a deers back at 400.
Piles of dead deer.
Very effective.
Never recovered one.
Bullet hole in.
Half dollar out.

i wish 110ab came in anybody's factory loaded ammo. tho i have lots of empty cases i reloaded for forty years and dont care to again.

The 110gr TTSX at 3350 in a 22” .270win really adds another gear to that chambering for a deer hunter.

I've played with the 110 TTSX in a 270 Titus and still have some 95 gr TTSX to try.

Hornady make a .270 110 grain PTS bullet that has a thicker jacket than the 110 grain Vmax, but a similar b.c. They don't supply it as a component, only in loaded 6.8 SPC ammunition by Sellier & Bellot. It would be nice if you could buy it as a reloading component.

I shoot the 110's in my 257 WBY also, never recovered one, and animals never went far if they even moved at all. Don't see why they would not work in 270 WIN.

There isn’t really much I wouldn’t shoot with that combo.

There isn't much of anything that's going to walk away from it....

That figures, if it works lets discontinue it. I have used them in my 257 Roberts and 25-06 and like them.

South Pender: I am with "Earlybrd" - I use the wonderful 130 grain Nosler Ballistic Tips in my 270's!
I often Hunt Deer in Elk and Bear country. A few years back I had occasion/need to harvest a nifty 6x6 Bull Elk with my 270 - using just one shot there with the Nosler 130 grain Ballistic Tips (heart/lung shot).
If you (the original poster) lives up Canada way I would definitely opt for and recommend to you the heavier 130 grain bullets for use in your 270.

The .277 110’s, not the .257 110’s GSP.

According to barnes data, you can get almost 3200 with the 129lrx and superperformance in the 270win. Might be worth going LRX for the improved BC.
