Many years ago a local BBQ joint was busted for cooking up dogs and cats. They were in the Black section of town and I don’t know anyone who admitted that they ate there. I know they charged the owner with some sort of crime but it’s been over 55 years since it happened

The other white meat.
While hunting on the east coast of Taiwan I got sick (pneumonia) and the the hotel maid brought me a stew she said was cat and snake meat, it was good and I did get better. Most meals I learned real quick eat and enjoy, don't ask. The food there was outstanding.

I've had mountain lion while going to school in Colorado, Mexican friend made breakfast sausage out of it. They were great !

While serving in the ARNG, our unit was in a small Delta town. The Delta has always had tamales on the menu with Doe’s Eat Place in Greenville, Mississippi being the most famous. This small town also had a rather famous black tamale maker and when he made a batch, they’d sell out. A local policeman was also in the unit and one weekend had an announcement. He warned us that he had caught this fellow picking up road kill cats and dogs in town. He confessed that he used them as the main ingredient in his tamales. So I probably have unknowingly eaten both cat and dog. Spices help with the favor. Anything will taste good with enuff chili powder and cumin in it.
